BAVVIC: The Future of Creative Building Blocks

Architect Maciej Sokolnicki's Innovative STEAM Toy Design

The project began as an idea to utilize wooden leftovers from furniture and window production. Sokolnicki accepted the challenge, leading to the creation of BAVVIC - a set of building blocks that not only entertain but also educate. These blocks, made from local beech tree wood, are designed to engage children in a culture of learning through creative play.

BAVVIC's unique properties lie in its multifunctionality and sensory design. The blocks carry attributes of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) toy, fostering an interest in education through geometrical shapes and abstract forms. The blocks are connected using sensory silicon connectors, made from BFA toxic-free silicon, adding a tactile element to the play experience.

BAVVIC is not just a toy; it's a tool for development. It supports various skills, including cognitive and motor skills, spatial imagination, problem-solving, decision-making, and creative thinking. BAVVIC's basic dimensions are 80mm x 80mm x 7.9mm for the wooden blocks and 40mm x 40mm x 8.4mm for the sensory silicon connectors.
